Daylight Savings heralds the move into the warmer end of the year. Now is a great time to find the motivation to energize your mind and body, and stir yourself from the slower pace that often characterizes the winter months.

As a regular and very active member of Cityfitness in Johnsonville, I thought I’d put in a plug for the facilities it provides to the population in the Northern Suburbs of Wellington. The decision to join the gym has definitely been one of the better life choices I have made in the last few years. I feel fitter and leaner, regular exercise has also been good for my mental health and stress levels as a real estate practitioner whose income is solely reliant on the property market in a time of major global financial upheaval! :) I have met and been befriended by some marvelous and inspirational people. As a small business owner, active membership in a gym is also a great networking exercise which is a great bonus.

For the cost of 3 coffees a week you can take advantage of the gym’s classes that cover everything from cardio fitness with the Step and Ride classes, to muscle tone with the Power (pump) classes, stretching and core strength with the Pilates and Yoga inspired Centergy classes, and pure shake your booty fun in the Zumba class. The instructors are friendly and always welcome new people in the classes.

Located at the South end of the Johnsonville Mall, there is free parking at the door. The gym is housed over three levels and includes a free weights room, weights machines, plenty of treadmills, elliptical walkers and exercycles.

Take the time to visit their website or pop in for a visit and a free tour. Now is the time to change your life habits for the better, regain your fitness, trim down for summer, and make a new bunch of friends from your neighbourhood.
